Xⁿ: X to The Nth “A perfect world begins with perfect humans.”
X to The Nth is the story of Dr. Cain Wyczthack III (WICH-thak), President and CEO of the Engenechem Corporation, and his trusted partner, Dr. Alan White. Together, the two have worked for decades and spent billions of dollars to engineer and create a perfect, highly intelligent, genetically pure slave-labor force that’s sustainable, easily replaceable… and untraceable. Evan Armada Nine and Chloe Rover Seven are only two of thousands of clones who work diligently behind the scenes to advance Cain’s agenda and complete his top-secret projects.
Although extreme measures are taken to ensure the female clones are kept isolated from their male counterparts, Dr. Wyczthack insists on tracking their every move with motion and sound sensitive video cameras and RFID chips embedded in their shoulders. However, destiny will intercede and see to it that Chloe and Armada’s paths intersect.
What is the mysterious entity that suddenly appears and leads Armada to Chloe? Why does the powerful presence want to help the couple break away from their masters? If they can manage to elude Engenechem’s surveillance and tracking systems, where will the pair flee to?
After a hurried and daring escape attempt, the runaways discover Cain’s plans for the destruction of Earth and annihilation of its inhabitants, including the army of clones. To ensure that only the strong and genetically pure will survive a thermonuclear ‘New Genesis’, Engenechem, with the aid and contribution of the largest corporations and governments of the world, builds orbital stations, subterranean bunkers and storage warehouses, a space elevator, satellite hunters, and positional, space-based missile silos. The duo comes to the sad realization that they and the rest of the clones were created for the sole purpose of constructing the artificial environments that will house Dr. Wyczthack’s hand-selected survivors of his global, atomic genocide.
Will the love-struck clones successfully stop the launch of hundreds of nuclear missiles? Can Armada and Chloe avoid detection long enough to make a clean getaway from Engenechem’s military fortress?
On July 23rd, 1978, Danny Lee Albright turned ten years old. As a birthday present, his father, Tommy Lee, surprised Danny and his four friends with a trip to meet Superman at the comic book store.
“If you boys had a super power, what would it be?” Tommy asked.
Danny sat quietly in the front seat amid squeals of “I’d be fast.”, “I’d be strong.”, “I’ll be invisible.”, and “Mine would be bullet proof!” He thought long and hard as to what special talent he would possess.
“C’mon son,” Tommy pushed, “What would your power be?”
Finally, turning to his father and friends, Danny proudly stated…
“I’d see the future!”
Some wishes should never come true.
“In July of 1978, on a clear and humid Saturday evening, Tommy Lee Albright and his wife, Sarah Lynn, are watching their son, Danny Lee, play in his last little-league baseball game for the summer. During the match, Tommy, a Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Trooper, springs the idea of a fishing trip on his four friends who are also DPS Troopers. The plan is to surprise Danny Lee and the sons of the four officers, all between the ages of eight and ten, to join their fathers on the excursion next weekend to celebrate Danny’s upcoming 10th birthday.
Early the following Saturday morning, prior to the fathers and sons’ departure, Tommy and Sarah give Danny a very rare and special, #3 issue, Action Comics comic book as a birthday present. The animated gem is of significant value because it marks the debut of Superman, Danny’s childhood hero. Unbeknownst to the boys, the ‘Man of Steel’ is scheduled to make an appearance that very morning at a comic book shop in the city. Tommy informs the brood they’re all going to meet him and get his autograph.
When just blocks away from their destination, Tommy and the five boys are involved in a horrific car crash. Although he isn’t hurt badly, Danny Lee is knocked unconscious while Tommy is seriously injured. The driver of the second vehicle, a lowlife sociopath named Dale, and his young and pregnant girlfriend, Brooke, are fleeing a robbery and double homicide when the wreck occurs. Dale manages to elude the emergency personnel and police officers who quickly arrive on the scene. After lying in a coma for months following the crash, Danny wakes up with the disturbing ability to see how and when people will die.
Is knowing the future a blessing from God… or a curse?
Over the next three and a half decades, the paths of Danny and Dale will intersect through a bizarre series of gruesome murders and unsolved crimes that spread across North Texas.
Will Danny use the macabre ‘gift’ to save others from ghastly and untimely deaths? Can his power be applied to stopping Dale from committing another heinous crime?”
